- Download the file for your version from the GitHub releases: matriochka-0.5.2+26.3.jar, +26.2.jar or +26.1.2.jar.
- Put it in your mods folder with Fabric API and GeckoLib.
- Launch the Fabric profile and create a new world. The Artisan's Scroll is waiting in your inventory.
Lunar Client
Matriochka is built on Fabric so that it can run on Lunar Client, whose mod loading relies on Fabric. Support for Minecraft 26.x together with GeckoLib is still being confirmed there: if the mod does not load, play it with the official launcher or Prism Launcher on a Fabric profile in the meantime.
Wiki

Early version
Names, numbers and balance can still change between versions. Back up your worlds before updating, and report anything odd on the issue tracker.
The Matriochka Pack
Rather not gather the mods yourself? Every GitHub release carries a Modrinth modpack (.mrpack) for Prism Launcher, the Modrinth App or any launcher that reads the format: the mod, Fabric API, GeckoLib, Just Enough Items (optional) and client performance mods (Sodium, Lithium, FerriteCore, Entity Culling, ImmediatelyFast, Dynamic FPS, Krypton, Mod Menu, Iris as an option), in a normal and a hard (nightmare) version.
Works with
Checked with Sodium, Iris (through vanilla light: emissive faces, full-bright particles), Xaero's Minimap and World Map, JourneyMap, VoxelMap and Traveler's Backpack: no conflict found, and no backpack way around the progression. Xaero's cave view and entity radar switch off in the Lightless Deep, where they would show what the darkness hides, and come back when you leave.
Languages
English, French, Spanish, German and Brazilian Portuguese, following the game's language setting.
Server configuration
The file config/matriochka.json is created on first launch. Edit it with the server stopped.
